This book has an awesome collection of information, spans the breadth of jet engine technology and has a fantastic collection of pictures. I like the strategy of starting off with some history and discussing the main aspects of design and finally covering each jet engine component in more detail. Over all, this book does an excellent job of covering the necessary details without becoming too textbookish.What really makes it hard to read is the poor editing, repeated redundant information and unnecessary pictures that do not add value. To give an example of a random picture to fill out space, take for example the chapter on performance, Pg 78, there is a useless picture of 5 identical planes flying in formation. Every other picture (not referenced which is very irksome) is a performance map. Most figures are not numbered or referenced, so if you were reading your first jet engine book, you would be frustrated because you would find it difficult to easily grasp things.If you find CFD images or contour plots, they do not mention what is being plotted, for example in page 172, the picture is titled 'flow field analysis of a cavity in an internal system", there is no indication of what physical quantity is being displayed, how the colors map to magnitudes, making this picture meaningless!An example of a conceptual mistake (IMO) is on page 14, the author says " When the nozzle is choked Vjet is fixed at Mach 1" where Vjet is the exit gas flow speed in the equation (F = W(Vjet - Vflight) + A(rho_exit - rho_inlet) . There two things wrong here:- Vjet is velocity and not the dimensionless Mach number- When a jet engine nozzle gets choked, it is the the Mach number at the throat that is Mach 1 and in usual operating conditions, the nozzle exit Mach number is supersonic (about 2)This blunder early on and several others makes it really difficult to trust what the author has to say later.My advice to the publishers and editors:Most people who will buy this book and pay $70 for it will mostly be aviation enthusiasts or Aerospace engineers (like myself) that hope to add an excellent book to their collection. We already know a good portion of the information and it is difficultl to get through the book in its present form. Therefore, in future revisions, please do the following:- Revisit the information to make sure you have all the facts right, especially concepts- Remove unnecessary pictures, instead elaborate on the existing information, make it more readable and add references to pictures.

I like the content as expected. No complicated mathematics are involved. Plenty of nice photos are showed professionally.

This is a short book but is packed full of info never woven together so succinctly . There's plenty of links to proof docs and video for anyone to delve deeper. I hope this project does come out as a documentary to witness how Greed has corrupted our Govt through bribes from big ugly pharma. The filthy Nazi connections are startling but not surprising, as things do go with things such as the War on Drugs being a big fat lie. We live in a time when these truths can no longer be hidden. Thanks Judah for your determined way to bring this one out into public view.

An eye-opening look into the engineered opiate epidemic.

I actually ordered this book by accident. Since I am an avid reader of anything WWII and I saw the Hitler in the title and Auschwitz pic on the front cover, I thought it was a History book. In actuality it is a history book - about Opiates. I was intrigued so I read on. It is an easy read, I finished it in a couple of hours and it contains alot of information regarding the Opium trade and who is behind the epidemic. I wish it had more of a personal story from Judah himself who went thru an addiction, not much detail on that. Still it was an interesting book and I did learn alot. On page 92, He makes a reference to the Sackler Brothers, Raymond and Mortimer, and the way he described them I instantly thought of Trading Places movie with Eddie Murphy. Then he says the same thing i was thinking in the next line of the book but he says that "Richard Pryor movie Trading Places". Eddie Murphy ended up getting the role, Richard was unavailable, lol. A small mistake but one that could have been easily corrected with a fact check. Other than that, the information was great and I enjoyed the book.

All I can say from here is, been there, done that, know too many victims of this genocide. Thank you Judah, for confirming the cries of the victims. Great, quick read. Discusses some very real and scary things going on in our world right now. Many people in our society choose to ignore the facts; the realization of the level of corruption and greed in the world can be a disheartening reality, but it is one I think we should all enlighten ourselves to. I recently chose to read this book as I was completing the MAT training required for NPs to offer medication assisted treatment to patients with “opioid use disorders” with medications such as buprenorphine. As I was working my way through the training, I wanted some more info on this whole opiod epidemic, and this was a great, quick read to get some good information. I didn’t feel like I was being pressured to feel any certain way at all. I just felt like I was given some good info on the topics and some very important things to think about. I have been too busy to read lately, but this book had me hooked. I read it with my spouse, and he really enjoyed it as well. Would be a great documentary. I hope that happens, so this message can spread. Rather than consider this book “blaming”, I would say it is shedding light on components of the opioid epidemic which need to be shouted from the rooftops.

This book is quite overpriced for very outdated information. It is A 2011 copyrighted edition but so much information is pre-2010. In many chapters, the author talks about new technology or legislation possibly coming for 2010 but this edition is supposed to be 2011. What happened to the update? Also, there are missing diagrams, pictures, and charts. The text points to to a certain Figure, but the figure is missing or wrong. I lost count of how many grammatical errors I found and highlighted in this book. There is NO information on the Volvo i-shift transmission. And again, why is there NO ANSWER KEY for the questions? Although the book is loaded with information, it needs a real update. I must say, however, that I have been using this book and "Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Technician Certification, Test Preparation Manual," by Don Knowles (read my review for that book), and I have passed 4 ASE certification (Fall 2011) tests on the first attempt.

I use this book at school and it has helped a lot. It has many diagrams and pictures to show you how things work and the internals. It also demonstrates on how to do certain procedures.

Detailed and a lot useful information.

The book has a lot of information but it is not as clear as I had hoped. The author needs to remember that most people in this field think and process information better by doing than by reading. There was a lot of unnecessary theory on electricity to read before just getting into the nuts and bolts of trouble shooting. I also felt that the end of chapter quizzes had to many trick answers or were just to hard to find in the text without a lot of unnecessary rereading. I have read many college text books over the course of 6 years and found that this was just not as to the point as it could have been. Better illustrations and easier to understand text would have made better sense in this line of study and work. Mechanics are very smart people but tend to learn differently than most people. We are puzzle builders and the best way to build a puzzle is to do it, not to read how to do it.

This text is being used by my son's Diesel Mechanic program, its a really comprehensive book on diesel. He likes it a lot and says he will keep it for future reference after the degree program is over.

I got this for my college class. It's got a lot of good info, but some of it can be hard to teach yourself from depending on what questions your instructor writes.

This is my second year using the Budgeting Planner. I am pleased with the updates that were made to the 2019 version. However, I would recommend on the bill tracker page to have a column with the amount due or budgeted column to be added to the next version. Also, at the end of the planner if it has a page to summarize the year (successes, pitfalls, etc.)Otherwise, great planner to use if you want to knock out debt.

Pretty simple. Is not one of those expensive, nonsensical budget books. Seems foolish to spend a lot of money for expensive ones with stickers. It's about budgeting for heaven's sake. This planner is easy to figure out and is simple to learn where to do adjustments and easy to see improvements! Thank you!!!

This map lists every city, town, and village in Guatemala.It is a great map, but the type is so small you will needa magnifying glass. My friend and I located villages not onany other map. It is very large and printed on both side.Anyone who thinks Guatemala is a small country won'tthink so after studying this map. The map of GuatemalaCty is not detailed enough and you will need a regularcity map. That is to be expected.

I was initially very disappointed to see that the latest version of this map that Amazon was selling was this 2008 version, when I knew that there was an updated 2014 version available. I called Amazon to see if they could get the new version in stock fairly quickly, but their poorly informed customer service people basically said there was nothing they could do. Since time was getting short to order through some other source, I reluctantly ordered the 2008 version, figuring it would be good enough for my needs on this trip.I was very pleasantly surprised to actually receive the new 2014 edition! Our friends at Amazon need to update their listing.As others have reported, it is very detailed, contains large-scale inset maps of Guatemala City and its surrounding area, as well as Antigua Guatemala, and the paper appears to be of good quality. It has a coating that makes water bead up and run off, so their statement about the map being waterproof appears to be correct. Highly recommended.

Good map. We rented a car and drove all over the place, the map proved accurate and helpful. Note that if you are going to drive around the country, you should find more detailed city maps to go along with this one, to cover you in any towns of any particular size that you might find yourself in. Guidebook maps often only have the center of town.

We travel there a lot and have been looking for a map with good detail. This is it! And it also appears to be very durable.

I bought this map before going to Guatemala to visit my son and his girlfriend who live there. The map was very helpful and the material it is printed on makes it very durable. My son hadn't seen such a good map of their country, so I left it with them. (I can buy another copy before my next visit.) The only "down" side was that the map happened to "break" right in the part of the country near where they live. But all the information was very clear and detailed.

brought this map on a trip to Guatemala and it held up well. The paper almost seems like a cross between paper and plastic, and although I never got it wet I think it would hold up. It withstood being opened, unfolded and refolded a bunch of times without starting to tear at the folds.

Very useful. Maps are hard to find once in Guatemala.

I wish I hadn't bought this map, it was completely useless! The map shows little to no detail and the majority of the roads the map does show are merely the major highways. I couldn't use the map to find hotels, airports, or any other basic information. What a waste of money :o(
