What I like most is the size of the book. It matches the size of the other supplements and its construction is well made, as are all of the MYFAROG books.The adventure itself has some lore based flavor, most notably the payment for the adventurers is made in random sized pieces of amber. It is these kinds of details that make MYFAROG and its setting of Thule so interesting. The challenges of the adventure itself are primarily environment based. There is plenty of climbing, searching, saving checks for hazards, and perception, lore and other checks of intellect. There is combat or the potential for combat, but only in a few instances, unless random encounters generate them.The story behind the adventure is a bit mundane, and it is the weakest part of the product. There is no grandeur in it, no sinister plot or real mystery to be solved here. A pretty generic story, one seen dozens of time before.I wish we could give half stars, and I would have given it 3.5, but I gave it a 4 due to the fact that it is low cost and as a first official module for the role playing game, it is not a bad start.
A great book for new Myth Masters to get a feel for how a myth should go. It contains just about every game mechanic and has some handy dungeon maps. This book is better suited for a larger or not-level-one party, although of course difficulty can be edited at the myth master's discretion. Only real downside preventing this from being a 5 star review is the lack of lore, it has a rather mundane plot that does not relate any deeper meaning.As usual with Varg's books it is physically high quality and printed locally!Varg if you're reading this keep up the good work! I would love to see more myths made by you.
A fantastic adventure for the Myfarog system. A lot of interesting ideas packed into a small affordable book. This is a welcome addition to anyone looking to add to their Myfarog collection, and with a little tinkering could be used in any system.The party will be in danger, and it’s important for them to play smart and be heroic!
This is a great adventure for MYFAROG! Highly recommended. I am making it a point to buy every MYAROG book that the author comes up with. I started roleplaying in the 1980s, with AD&D 1st Edition (when it was on store shelves!!!). I have played many systems since that time. This is a really fun, and really interesting rules set. Well worth the few bucks I spent!!!
Really cool adventure for MYFAROG. I was happy with the inclusion of maps but the font on them (first printing) is so small that you can't read it. I would have given it less stars but I emailed the author and immediately got a response that included the digital copies of the maps and he put them up on his website for everyone to see. If that's not great customer service for you, he also made a video on his YouTube page letting everyone know where to find the digital maps. Pretty cool. It's a wonderfully written adventure and I hope more are to come.
